| Registering | All tracks must be registered by August 15, 2004, using the registration form on this website. You may register up to three songs, but please
understand that we cannot put more than one track per contributor on the final CD. |

Duplication of songs
|
If we receive duplicate versions of the same song by different contributors, and the tracks are ultimately different (i.e. an acoustic version of
Lady In Red, and a "heavy metal" version....), chances are that both tracks will appear on the CD. So don't worry about registering a song
that somebody else already registered.

Mechanical rights licensing | We're still in the process of figuring out whether it is necessary to license the mechanical rights of the individual recordings. It's something we didn't do with volume 1 to 4, and we are lucky that Chris didn't seem to mind. This time we have to be morecareful however. If we find it necessary to license the recordings, we might have to ask you to donate a small amount of money for this purpose. We will inform you about this during the process of the project. |
| No use of original Chris de Burgh work | Due to legal reasons this time we cannot accept tracks that use Chris de Burgh's original recorded work (i.e.his music with merely new vocals over it). So, if you want to submit a track, you must record both voice and music. If you can't record your own music, please contact Brian and Cesar via the mailing list, as they might be able to provide a simple "karaoke" version of the song you would like to sing, so you merely need to record your own voice over it.
We might eventually be able to provide "karaoke" versions of popular songs on this website soon, to have an extra contest as in
who does the best version of them. |
| No submission to multiple projects | There might be several "CD projects" around. Once we have submitted your track and we have accepted to put
it on the CD of this project, you may not submit them to any of the other projects. |
| Biography | For the creation of the booklet and the website of the tribute CD we kindly ask you to also submit a little "bio" (who are you, where do you live, why did you chose your song, ...) and a picture along with your submission. |
| Submission | Final deadline for submitting your registered song is October 15, 2004. |
| Agreement on use of tracks | Once you have submitted your track to the project, you give us irrevocable permission to publish it on the tribute CD without remuneration. We assure you that we will not alter your track unless it is necessary for technical reasons. In this case we would integrate you into the process. |
| Decision about song selection | Only 74 minutes (approximately 20 tracks) will fit on the CD. In case we receive too many tracks, we have built a sub-committee for a listening jury. Brian, Cesar, Astrid, Morten and Chris E. will listen to every track and judge them according to performance, originality, quality, duplication of song choice and special considerations. The final decision as to which songs appear on the CD and in what running order is up to them. However, we assure you to keep you up to date about the decision process, if you subscribe to our contributor mailing list. In case, your song will not be selected for the final CD, it will automatically be
registered for next year's project. |
